Recipes And Crafts That You Can Do At Home

By Laura Kelly

Food does not only fuel the body of a person, it also satisfies your cravings. When an upcoming event is coming such as birthdays and anniversaries, you need to prepare a gift that you can give for that. If you have not found a gift yet, you might wanna consider recipes and crafts. Here are some dishes that you can do for your loved ones.

Butter cookies in rose bud shapes. This will surely add some sparkle to an occasion. This pastry is flaky and is enclosed with some crunchy sugar coating, which are folded into a pile of butter goodness. This recipe originally comes from Russian, and they called this gusinie lapki, but you may make yours in rose bud forms.

Ingredients needed. A cup of unsalted butter in room temperature. Curd cottage cheese, eight ounces. The zest from a medium sized lemon. All purpose flour, two and one fourth cups. A teaspoon of baking powder, and three fourth cup decorating or granulated sugar. Prepare all these before you start making the cookies.

Outline them first using the thicker icing. Set them aside for thirty minutes before you flood the already outline ones. While you are setting the flooded ones for another hour, pipe a yellow ribbon design to the sprinkles which are heart shaped. After it has set, draw an envelope, put the hearts which you made earlier on the tip of envelope flap.

Once the product is finished, air dry them overnight for the icings to harden. Use a plastic wrap to wrap them. Wrap them by two, and it should be facing its bottom together. Then placed those bundle comfortably in a zip lock that can withstand your freezer. By morning, it will already be ready for packing or eating.

Brownies. Instead of using butter and margarine, use a vegetable shortening or Crisco instead. These will likely rancid in a high temperature. Some does not use Crisco which are found in a lot of bars and cookies, but this are just amazingly tasty, so you might want to use this. Chocolate chips are safe once you bake them.

However, when you plan on mailing your creations, substitute Crisco with butter, margarine, or coconut oil. The ingredients you need to prepare are, one and a half cup all purpose flour, a cup of baking soda, half teaspoon baking powder and salt, and a teaspoon of espresso powder. Two third vegetable shortening in butter flavor, 2 cups white sugar, four eggs, and white chocolate chips.

Baked this for about thirty to thirty two minutes, just until the edges would begin to brown. Cool them on your baking sheet. By doing this, your cookie will harden, which is part of the process to make sure that the ingredients would hold. Once harden, store it in a container that is air tight and in a room temperature for five days.

Tips of packing these. To double wrap, use a plastic wrapper. Do it in pairs and the two needs to face its bottoms together. Make sure to place the cookies in airtight containers or in a ziplock bags. It is not recommended that you ship this during hot weather because this can melt with the heat of the sun.
