Following A Recipe For Honey Chocolate Chip Cookies

By Stephanie Green

Most cookie recipes today are relatively simple to follow. They also yield dozens of treats that you otherwise might have to buy at a store. Even if you are not a skilled baker, you may find using one of these recipes to be easy and straightforward. You can bake treats like honey chocolate chip cookies by knowing what steps to follow during the process.

The basis for any good cookie recipe falls to the variety of ingredients for which it calls. Many of them will share a list of common ingredients. Before you start baking, you may want to make sure you have both brown and white sugar on hand as well as vanilla extract, baking soda, refined white flour, eggs, and baking chips on hand. You also will require something with which to measure out the ingredients.

The first step of the recipe involves mixing together the ingredients that are wet or soft. These include the eggs, sugar, and vanilla. While you are mixing, you want to make sure that the mixture does not have any lumps in it. The lumps could make their way into a cookie and ruin the final result. After it is creamed, you may set it aside for later.

Your next step involves mixing the dry ingredients. This is the part where you may want to use a spoon or a wire whisk. Using a hand held mixer could make the flour, baking soda, and others fly out of your bowl and on to your clothing or table top. Instead, you might mix them slowly and carefully, ensuring it all stays in the bowl where they belong. The dough ideally will become moist and crumbly.

The last step would be to mix in the chips. This process may be done with care so the chips do not bounce out of the mixing bowl. After you have everything mixed together, you may then start forming the balls of dough to be baked.

Putting the balls on a baking sheet that is not greased or oiled will result in the cookie treats sticking to the pan. You will not be able to use a spatula to pry them from the surface. Instead, you might use lubricants like margarine, spray oil, coconut oil, or even butter. These lubricants ensure the balls of dough do not stick as they are being baked in the oven.

After you lift each cookie from the sheet, you may then place them on cooling racks. Ideally, they should be allowed to cool for up to a half hour before you eat them. This ensures they are not too hot to eat and will not burn your mouth. They also hold together better and will not fall apart while you eat them. If you do not have cooling racks, you can place them on a sheet of wax paper or aluminum foil.

When you want a delicious treat for your family, you may try baking chocolate chip cookies with honey in them. You might find the process relatively simple and straightforward. It also will give you dozens of treats that you can share with people you love.
