Celiac Bagels Are Easy To Prepare

By Patricia Hamilton

People who do not tolerate certain types of food or some of the ingredients often used in different products sometimes find it difficult to find a replacement for their favorite kind of food. It should also be mentioned that such foods are expensive, and sometimes not overly delicious. The best solution is to prepare your favorite treats in your own kitchen.

When it comes to gluten intolerance, the biggest problem is, of course, bread. This food is an indispensable addition to many dishes, and most people find it hard to imagine life without it. However, bagels are so much a favorite treat that you will find a simple recipe here for preparing delicious celiac bagels in your kitchen.

You will find many types of gluten-free flour. Choose better flour, or combine several types. It is a good idea to add a small amount of gluten-free starch to the flour mixture, as this ingredient will make the dough more delicious. In addition to flour, you need a small amount of milk, hot water, oil, dry yeast, sugar and salt. The addition of a small teaspoon of baking powder will speed up the process of raising the dough.

This basic recipe contains three cups good quality gluten-free flour, two teaspoons dry yeast, and a half of a teaspoon baking powder. The addition of baking powder makes your dough rise faster. You will also need two tablespoons oil, a little bit of gluten-free starch, lukewarm water and milk. Make a dough using these ingredients and let it rise.

Make circles and cut hole in each. Place them on a piece of oiled baking paper, and leave them there to rise again. Cook for about twenty seconds in boiling salted water and put them back on oiled baking paper. Preheat the oven and bake your bagels for maybe 20 minutes. It really depends on their size.

Of course, you can add any type of delicious seeds in your dough, such as sesame, chopped pumpkin seeds or chopped nuts, hazelnuts, pieces of dried fruit or a few poppy seeds. If you want to prepare sweet rolls, just add more sugar to your dough. If you want, you can even add an egg, why not. With an addition of cinnamon, dry ginger or a pinch of vanilla, this can make a perfect simple dessert.

If you want to increase the protein content in your desserts, add one to two teaspoons of chia seeds. Soak the seeds of the seeds in lukewarm water first and then use this mixture to make the dough. You can scrub this liquid if you do not want tiny dark crumbs in your dough. Chia really replaces the egg in a variety of recipes, and is a good source of protein that is essential to your body.

If you use your own little breads primarily for the preparation of delicious sandwiches, here are a few ideas to make them more interesting. In the batter you can add grated cheese and olive oil, various aromatic herbs such as sage, basil or oregano, hot peppers, chopped dried tomatoes or a combination of these ingredients.
